Pony Club

Springhill Farm is an official Pony club centre. For young people who want to learn to ride and care for ponies,have fun, but do not own their own pony. Members can work to achieve badges of a variety of horse based subjects.

Currently pony club is run every Saturday morning from 10.00am to 1 pm.


FOR SALE. PONY CLUB POLO and SWEATSHIRTS.  RIDING HATS, JODPHURS and JODPHUR BOOTS.To join, children need to be 7 years and over and have had an assessment   riding lessons with us,  they are then welcome to join the Pony club.
During the session, members will have a riding lesson or hack and the remaining time will be spent doing hands on activities, to learn about stable management and riding theory. Pony club is a great way to get children exercising in the fresh air with other like-minded children.
Fully supervised and educational; the children are being taught as they take part. The children will be learning whilst enjoying themselves with the ponies.

Parents do not need to stay with their child during pony club. As long as your child is happy to be left with us then they can take part. All levels of experience are welcome  as groups are split as required
The cost is £25 per child and includes hat hire, if required.

Riding clothes are not needed, just comfortable long trousers, strong shoes or wellies, a jacket and gloves are usually a good idea.

We have a small supply of jodhpurs, boots, chaps and pony club sweatshirts for sale.


WHAT TYPES OF ACTIVITIES ARE THERE AT PONY CLUB?
The mornings give children hands on experience of ponies, where they get the opportunity to ride and take part in activities and work towards badges such as;

Learning how to be safe riding, handling working around ponies. Grooming, picking out their feet & learning about the different brushes.
Points of the horse.
Learning to plait their manes and tails.
Catching & leading the ponies.   
Tacking up & learning about different tack & equipment.
Feeding, watering & mucking out. Also lots of other countryside badges to achieve.

Saturday Pony Club mornings 10.00AM-1 pm £25 

 

Pony club members  lesson. 9.30am. £25. Members welcome to come up to 30 minutes early to groom/tack up.
Now every Saturday MUST be pre booked as places are limited. Non members childrens lessons available from 9.30am every Saturday. 

In addition, Pony club members are welcome to ride on any lessons and rides at other times
