Via Shrewsbury or Welshpool directions (West midlands, London, and the South)

Continue to Oswestry

From the roundabout take the B4579 road directly into Oswestry. 

Continue straight across the roundabout by Morrisons supermarket, through the traffic lights, Straight accross the mini roundabout (Sainsbury on the right) Straight accross the traffic lights, follow the one way street until just before the petrol station then turn sharp left into Castle street, continue to the end at the T junction turn right on to Willow street towards Llansillin (B4580).

Continue on this road uphill for just over 2 miles, and at the top of the hill you arrive at the Old racecourse common.

At which take the turning right, sign posted Ffordd Careg Y Big.

Continue for 1 mile down to the T junction, turn right then in 50 yards turn left following signposts for Llechrydau.

Continue for 1 3/4 miles, past forestry and stone walls.

At the sharp right bend bear off "left" downhill immediately down through a farmyard and through the gate, (which needs to be opened.)

Continue straight for 1 mile over the open moorland and over the cattle grid and Springhill farm is on your right.

Riding is the first entrance and the accommodation is the second.

Continue to Chirk

Coming along the A483, at the first roundabout you arrive at after the end of the dual carriageway take the third exit with brown signs for Chirk and Ceiriog Valley

At the next roundabout take the first exit, continue into Chirk,

After passing the centre turn right by the church for Glyn Ceiriog.

After 6 miles you will arrive at Glyn Ceiriog,

At the mini roundabout turn left, (1st exit), go down past the post office, over the bridge, and immediately at the speed de-restriction sign, turn immediately right into a small narrow lane,

Head uphill for 2 miles, when you get to the top, there is a junction on your left, but carry on straight ahead for another ½ mile and you will arrive at Springhill Farm which will be on your left side. If you pass over a cattle grid you have gone too far.

Accommodation is the first entrance and the riding is up the second.

From Llangollen (A5 and North West Wales) Not suitable for lorries see direction below

(includes 25% gradients on single track road ) If you want to avoid this continue to Chirk turning right at the first roundabout you come to which is the second one in the above directions, this will add 9 miles to your journey.

After the traffic lights, travel eastwards on the A5 and turn immediately right towards Green Bank, then left into Hill street, signed for Plas Newydd.

Carry on this road over a small bridge, past some houses; take the second lane on the right-signed Glyn Ceiriog.

This will take you steeply uphill through some trees for about 1.2 miles.

At the very top, turn right and carry on for about 1.3 miles until you come to a crossroads with a farmhouse on your right.

Turn left down hill, this road is steep, and wind into the village of Glyn Ceiriog.

At the mini roundabout, take the second exit, signed Selattyn, past the post office, follow the road around over a bridge and as you leave the bridge, turn immediately right into a small narrow lane.

Head uphill for 2 miles, when you get to the top, there is a junction on your left, but carry on straight ahead for another ½ mile and you will arrive at Springhill Farm which will be on your left side. If you pass over a cattle grid you have gone too far.

Directions for lorries

Head south on A5/A483 past Chirk

At the 2nd roundabout, (after the 2nd bridge) take the 3rd exit onto Station Rd heading to Weston Rhyn

After 1 mile continue over the mini roundabout towards Selattyn, and after 0.4 mile take the second left travel for 1.4 mile and turn right travel for 0.5 mile and turn right towards Selattyn

Go straight through Selattyn and into Wales traveling for 2.9 mile then turn off slightly left on to a lane that rises above the road (no signs, but it is the only lane after Selattyn) after 0.7 miles bear right continue for 1.8 mile

At the junction turn left after 0.7 miles Springhill is be on the left.
