Springhill Farm is an official Pony club centre. This is for young people who want to learn to ride and care for ponies, have fun, but do not own their own. Members can work to achieve badges of a variety of subjects, as well as riding tests.
Currently pony club is run every other Saturday morning from 10.30am to 1.30pm.Other Saturdays we run a shorter riding lesson session for members.
To join, children need to be 7 years and over and have had an assessment riding lessons with us, they are then welcome to join the Pony club.
During the session, members will have a riding lesson or hack and the remaining time will be spent doing hands on activities, to learn about stable management and riding theory. Pony club is a great way to get children exercising in the fresh air with other like-minded children.
Fully supervised and educational; the children are being taught as they take part. The children will be learning whilst enjoying themselves with the ponies.
Parents do not need to stay with their child during pony club. As long as your child is happy to be left with us then they can take part. All levels of experience are welcome as groups are split as required
The cost is £20 per child and includes hat hire, if required.
Riding clothes are not needed, just comfortable long trousers, strong shoes or wellies, a jacket and gloves are usually a good idea.
We have a small supply of jodhpurs, boots, chaps and pony club sweatshirts for sale.
WHAT TYPES OF ACTIVITIES ARE THERE AT PONY CLUB?
